She is survived by her sisters, Debra T. Greer, Carol S. Tschirgi, Bonnie Tschirgi, Cousins Jim Brown, Marty Brown, Sara Bocci, Lora Becker, Dan Tschirgi and lots of nieces and nephews.
She was born in Des Moines, Iowa, attended Simpson College in Indianapolis, IN 1963, and graduated with a degree in Liberal Arts/Education.
Marcia taught English at Smokey Hill High School in Cherry Creek, Colorado, and was the coach for the women's golf team.
Marcia met, and soon after, married the love of her life, Leonard Kirkley in June 1974.
She loved participating and watching most sports, as well as meeting with her regular bridge club. Marcia was an avid reader and always had a good book recommendation, suited for things each person liked. She loved her arts and crafts. Marcia made some amazing quilts and did china painting which we all have several of her pieces in our homes.
She will be greatly missed. There will be a private Celebration of Life for family.
In lieu of flowers to honor Marcia, please consider planting a tree (couple places listed below). Or grow some beautiful flowers in your garden because she always loved all the diverse colors. Max Fund took her cats, and placed them in a loving home within 30 days.

Marcia and I attended the same Sunday School in Des Moines IA in our teens, though I was a year older than she and later, we both pledged Pi Beta Phi at Simpson College in Indianola IA. I remember her as a charming, open and loving person, with a broad smile which embraced everyone. She was a blessing to those who knew her.

I have known Marcia for almost 50 years, starting when she hired me as an English teacher at Smoky High School. I am forever grateful for her choosing me. We spent a lot of time together as colleagues and friends, in her china painting classes, sharing a classroom, and in our book club. Marcia had many talents and was always the person to go to for an answer to a grammatical question. She painted a coffee mug with an apple for each of the members of our department one year, She made Halloween napkins and place mats for each of us in our book club. She regaled us with stories of the adventures of her cats, Charlie and Dickens. She was full of energy until the last years of her life. It was hard to watch her struggles with a weakening body. I like to believe that her spirit is flying high now.
