Born on April 19, 1949, in Bradenton, Florida, Marcie was the beloved daughter of the late Esther Jean Watkins and was a graduate of Manatee High School and Florida State University. She earned her Master's degree and devoted her life to education, working as a teacher at Hand and Hand Preschool and later at Southwest Georgia Technical College. Her dedication to shaping young minds and her nurturing spirit touched countless lives throughout her career.
She is survived by her loving sons, Bruck Elliott Christopher Kirby (DeAnn) of Thomasville, GA, and Brett Alexander Todd Kirby (Jennifer) of Bradenton, FL; grandchildren James Conner Chastain, Bruck Elliott Kirby, Leighton Grady Hand, Renleigh Holman Kirby, and Hazel Paige Wood. She was preceded in death by her mother, Esther Jean Kretsinger, and her former husband, Bruck Holman Kirby
A Memorial Service will be held at Whiddon Shiver Funeral Home on Monday – July 7, 2025 at 10:00 am, with David Dumas officiating.
