Marcile D. Anderson, 85 passed away Monday December 16, 2024, at St. Johns Woodlands Campus in Albert Lea, MN. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday December 28, 2024, at the Round Prairie Church outside of Glenville, MN with a visitation starting at 1:00 PM. Pastor Kent Otterman will be officiating. Interment will be at Round Prairie North cemetery following a luncheon.
Marcile was born on February 24, 1939, to Milferd and Edna (Broitzman) Leidal in London Township. She was baptized and confirmed at Deer Creek Valley Lutheran Church. She graduated from high school in Northwood IA. She married Kenneth Anderson. They were married 67 years, together, they had two daughters and three sons.
Marcile enjoyed playing music, she learned to play the accordion from her father. Kenneth played the guitar and they played together all throughout their lives entertaining many people. They had a family band, “The Freeman Five” with their sons in the late 1970’s playing old time music. She also loved to dance.
She enjoyed going to farm shows, snowmobiling, camping trips and winters in Arizona. She loved to tell stories and had a cheery disposition. The Family gatherings always involved lots of playing music, singing, dancing, and laughing.
She worked at Osco Drug in the Skyline mall 30 years, from the day it opened until it closed in 1996. She worked as a pharmacy technician. She made many friends with her co-workers and enjoyed seeing the regular customers.
Marcile was a wonderful mother and grandma and will be greatly missed.
Marcile is survived by her daughters Diane (Scott) Hogan, Darlene (Mark) Dragan; sons James Anderson, Randy Anderson, and Ricky Anderson. Grandchildren John Hogan, Allison (Marko) Obrovac, Kirsten Hogan, Alexandra (Matthew) Payne, Lindsey (Mark) Sullivan, Angel Anderson, Selena (Chandler) Worre, Elle Anderson, Samuel Anderson, Hannah Anderson and 10 great-grandchildren. Sisters Lorraine (Dave) Horning and Donna Mae Ward. Uncle Wayne (Helen) Leidal, along with many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Kenneth; parents Milferd and Edna Leidal, siblings Eldon Leidal and Diane Leidal and many friends.
