Marcin Gnida Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
Age 40, passed away on Friday, October 3, 2025. Born in Poland, moved to the United Sates at the age of seven where he was raised in Chicago, and a resident of Lockport for the past four years. Marcin was an Electrician with International Brotherhood of Electrical Worker Union Local #134 for 22 dedicated years. Marcin was a devoted husband and found great joy in spending time at home with his wife and their fur babies.
Preceded in death by his father, Karol Gnida 2020; and his mother-in-law, Nicole Hedger 2004.
Survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Daniella (Nee Hedger) Gnida; his fur babies, Sasha, and Scooby; his mother, Stephanie (Nee Drozd) Gnida; two sisters, Anna (Tom) Dziza, and Mary Gnida; adored niece and goddaughter, Olivia Dziza; father-in-law, David Hedger Sr.; his brother-in-law, David Hedger Jr.; and many dear family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Gnida family which will be donated to various charities in Marcin's name.
Prayers will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, in the O'Neil Funeral Home Chapel 1105 E. 9th St. Lockport, IL 60441 at 9:00am then proceeding to Our Mother of Good Counsel Catholic Church, Homer Glen for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Following Mass Cremation Rites will be respectfully addressed. Visitation Tuesday, October 7, 2025, in the Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00pm until 8:00pm.
