Marella A. Gier, 92, of Camden, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Drews Country Living. She was born on October 18, 1932 in Hillsdale to Yale and Norma (McDougal) Salisbury. Marella married Charles Blaine Gier on March 13, 1951 and he preceded her in death.
Marella loved cleaning and collecting chickens. She would often attend craft shows and flee markets looking for chickens. Marella also loved spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. She attended church at Frontier United Methodist Church.
Marella is survived by one daughter, Charla Timberman of Camden; one son, Kevin (Linda) Gier of Reading; one sister, Sandy (Alden) Martin; one brother, Yalen (Cindy) Salisbury; seven grandchildren, Nickie (Mike) Grange, Zebulin Timberman, Hilary (Joe Burlew) Rogers, Amanda (Jared) Radford, Jennifer (Brooks) Grant, Shannon (Katie) Girdham, Holly (Blake) Jenkins; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her husband, Charles, Marella was preceded in death by her parents; one son Garry Gier; one sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn (Russell) Lockwood; two brothers, Jerry and Larry Salisbury; son-in-law, Larry Timberman and granddaughter, Shannon Risner.
A graveside service for Marella A. Gier will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery with Reverend Alan Fenstermaker officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 4-7 PM at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Frontier United Methodist Church, Hospice of Hillsdale County or the Montgomery Fire Department.
