Margaret (Greaves) Adams, beloved mother, friend, and cornerstone of the family business, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, fittingly, on the Day of the Dead, a time when love and memory meet, at the age of 82. Born on September 11, 1943, in
Elmhurst, Illinois, Margaret lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to the people she loved. Those who truly knew her and knew her well understood her immense worth.
Margaret was deeply devoted to her children, whose lives were shaped by her steady guidance, boundless encouragement, and the quiet strength she carried into every chapter of life. They were her grounding force, her pride, and the center of her world. Her presence, steady and unassuming, held a kind of quiet magic: she cared deeply, listened closely, and offered love both fierce and gentle. And her life was shaped by spirit, and a heart that gave more than it ever asked for. She leaves behind a family and others forever changed by her kindness – and forever grateful for the time they had with her.
A graduate of Kingswood ('61) (Cranbrook Schools) Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Margaret maintained lifelong friendships that sustained her throughout the years. Her friends from Kingswood remained a treasured part of her story, offering laughter, perspective, and companionship that enriched her life in immeasurable ways.
Margaret played an essential role in the growth and ongoing success of the family's real estate appraisal business. With her keen organizational instincts, dependable leadership, and unparalleled work ethic, she became a true backbone of the enterprise.
Margaret's life was defined by sincerity, devotion, and deep appreciation for simple, meaningful moments. She will be remembered for her grace, loyalty, and her ability to make every person she encountered feel valued.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Charles Greaves and Ruth Margaret (O'Neill) Greaves, husband, Douglas X Adams, brother, Charles William Greaves, and sister, Sarah Jane (Greaves) Meisels. Margaret leaves behind a loving family and their significant others whom she also treasured, daughter, Alexandra Adams (Zach Harvey) and son, John Adams (Jeanette Uy), who will carry her memory close and honor her spirit in the years ahead. Surviving extended family members are sister-in-law Judy (Pottinger) Greaves, and nephews Charles "Chip" Greaves (married to Polly), Peter Greaves (married to De), Jeff Greaves and Joseph Johnston (married to Becky).
May her soul find peace in the places she loved most: the bright Caribbean sun and the shores of Onekama, Michigan.
A private interment will be held.
