Margaret Evelyn Ann Lundberg, 85, of Stratford, Iowa, passed away at Stratford Specialty Care in Stratford on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. She had been a resident at Stratford Specialty Care since February 2017. She was born on March 8, 1939, in Centerville, Iowa, the daughter of George Alexander Ramsey and Dollie Evelyn (Leopard) Ramsey.
On January 1, 1961, she married Harold Benson, they later divorced. On December 9, 1966, she married LeRoy Lundberg, they later divorced. Margaret was a Certified Nurse's Aid and a Certified Medical Aid at several facilities, including Stratford Specialty Care. She received her GED through Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) in Boone and later completed a two-year program, also through DMACC. Margaret was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Boone.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Ramsey and Dollie (Leopard) Hines; son, LeRoy Lundberg Jr.; husband, LeRoy Lundberg Sr.; husband, Harold Benson; and brothers: Ernie Ramsey, Ivan Ramsey, Ira Ramsey, and James Ramsey.
Margaret is survived by her son, Robert Benson (Linda) of Council Bluffs, IA; son, David Lundberg (fiancée Kat) of Des Moines, Iowa; sister, Terri Bertram (Ron) of New Hartford, IA; brother, William "Gene" Ramsey of Tucson, AZ; and sister-in-law, Donna Ramsey of Fort Madison, IA; grandchildren: Greg Shaffer Jr., Kasi Lundberg (James), Tasha Homer (Brady), Paige Lundberg (Justin), and David "Bug" Lundberg Jr (Sky); and great-grandchildren: Slevin Bearden, Alex Bearden, Tori Bearden, Jace Homer, Emmett Kirton, Ezekiel Kirton, Lisa Shaffer, and Hunter Shaffer.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Schroeder-Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Boone.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Boone Area Humane Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
