Margaret Rose "Maggie" Blessing

Margaret Rose Blessing (Maggie) passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, surrounded by her family.
Maggie was born September 18,1932 in Detroit, Michigan where she lived until 1947 when her family moved to Manitou Springs. She graduated from Manitou Springs High School in 1951.
After graduation she worked in the art department at Alexander Film Company in Colorado Springs where she met and then married Horace Dyer. They had four children.
On November 1, 1963, Maggie married Darrel Blessing and they lived in Manitou Springs until moving to Buena Vista in 1968. She worked as a nurses aide at Salida Hospital for several years.
Maggie enjoyed camping, fishing, boating, snow mobiling, traveling, crafting and art. Her families homes are filled with the beautiful paintings and crafts she created. Maggie and Darrel split their time between Buena Vista and Arizona from 1983 until 2019 when her health began to decline.
She was a long time member of Valley Fellowship Church. She loved her Lord and spent every morning reading her Bible and the Daily Bread. Her favorite pastime was sitting on the swing on her front porch listening to the birds and reading scripture.
Maggie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Darrel Blessing; four children: Mike (Carol) Dyer, Steve (Donna) Dyer, Tim (Debbie) Dyer, & Liz Dyer; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one brother, Tom (Jane) Theile.
A memorial service is planned Thursday, July 25, 2024 1:00 pm at Valley Fellowship Church, 608 S. San Juan, Buena Vista, CO.
