Margaret Bottoms

Margaret "Marie" Bottoms (80) of Youngsville, North Carolina, died January 14, 2026. Born December 28, 1945, she was the daughter of Joseph Jackson Bottoms, Jr. and Catherine Cox. She graduated from Jarratt High School and Hardbarger Junior College of Business in Raleigh. She served in the National Guard for several years. After her career she enjoyed traveling, going to dinner and the movies with friends, reading, watching sports (especially basketball and the Carolina Hurricanes), exercising at Rex Wellness in Wake Forest until closing, and then going to Joyner Park to walk on their track.

She is survived by her cousins: David Conwell (Vicky), Tony Conwell (Susan), Allen Conwell (Vicki), Kathryn Lilley (Gary), Mary Beth Belden (Betsy), Martha Bailey (Bill), David Worrell (Susan), Jenny Phillips (Craig), Joe Conwell (Melissa), Nicholas Conwell (Stephanie), Casey Vauhan (Chris), Jeff Conwell, Julie Wheeler (Bryan), Brooke Brooks (Erskine), Kendall Bozarth, Walker Lilley (Katie), Shannon Belden, Adam Belden (Krystal), and Billy Bailey. She is also survived by several special friends she has remained in contact with from high school and business school: Pat, Beverly, and Carolyn.
