Margaret Ann Boyd, age 87 of Gulfport, passed away Thursday, October 9, 2025.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, Allan H. Boyd; her parents, Walter and Mary Govedich; her sister, Carol S. Fridy; sister-in-law, Joce Govedich and her great grandchild, Roman Cadwell.
Margaret is survived by her children, Beth (Tim) Giannini of Gulfport, MS, Paul (Joann) Boyd of Middleburg, FL, Bruce (Lauren) Boyd of Batavia, IL; her brother, Bud Govedich; her grandchildren, Matt (Cassie) McDermott, Michaela (Tom) Lewis, Steven (Jess) Boyd, Taylor Boyd, Scott (AJ) Cadwell, John (Elisa) Cadwell, Jacquie (Jeremy) Kinnard and Adam (Savannah) Thomalla; her great grandchildren, Paige, Connor, Alex, Christian, and Amelia Lewis, Aidan and Cambria McDermott, Demi, Zayden, and Reagan Boyd, Harris, Brendan and Elizabeth Cadwell and Ashlynn and Natalia Thomalla.
Margaret grew up in Tucker County, West Virginia before moving to Lake County, Ohio with her family, where she completed high school. It was in Ohio that she met the love of her life, Allan Boyd, whom she married in 1960. Together, Margaret and Allan shared a deep love of travel, exploring countless places across the country and creating a lifetime of memories along the way. She moved to the MS Gulf Coast in 2023 with her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Tim where she enjoyed sunsets at the beach and the seafood that the Coast offers. She made lasting friendships at Summerfield Senior Living and loved the caring staff there. Above all, Margaret cherished her family. She took immense pride in being a mother, grandmother, and was overjoyed to welcome the next generation as a great-grandmother.
