Margaret "Kay" Katherine Brewer, age 83, of Holts Summit, Missouri, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025, at Villa Marie Skilled Nursing, surrounded by her loving family.
Kay was born on October 9, 1942, in Fulton, Missouri, to the late Alonzo Lester Reed and Mildred Roselee (Jones) Reed. She attended Fulton schools, in a one-room schoolhouse.
She was united in marriage to Levi Roy Brewer, who preceded her in death on October 11, 1995. Kay devoted many years to her career in housekeeping, working at Memorial Hospital, Capital Regional Medical Center, and Jefferson City Medical Group, retiring in 2014.
Kay was known for her sassy personality, fierce love for her family, and tireless devotion to caring for those she loved. She was truly the hub of the family, always making sure everyone was looked after. She was a faithful member of Harvest Time Ministries, where her faith and compassion were evident to all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters: Dianne Sackett (Edward) of Jefferson City; Tonya McDonald (Candy) of Holts Summit; and Sonya Byrd (Chris) of Jefferson City; her son-in-law, Chad Cotton of Centertown; her brother, Bill Reed (Ruby) of Holts Summit; her sister, Shirley Love (Ken) of Holts Summit; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends. Kay was also a beloved aunt to many, holding a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, Jimmy Brewer, Roger Mayes, Randall Swaim, Ricky Brewer, and Roy Brewer; her daughter, Roseann Stegeman; and her siblings, Ruth Micky, Juanita Morris, Donald Reed, Mary Hursman, Nellie Ousley, Wanda Jones, Betty Woody, Imogene Wyatt, Jimmy Reed, Johnny Reed, and Ronald Reed.
Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday December 31, 2025, at Harvest Time Ministries in Holts Summit. Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Robby Morris as officiant. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fulton.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy are suggested to Harvest Time Ministries in Kay's honor.
