David Frederick Meyer

David Frederick Meyer, 78, of Jefferson City, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

He was born August 4, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Heckman) Meyer. He was a graduate of Fatima High School.

David proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam War. He dedicated much of his working life as a mechanic and tow truck driver with Broadway Wrecker, where he worked for 32 years. He later continued serving his community at Lowe's in the lumber department, where he retired after many years.

He enjoyed watching old Western movies, taking long drives, and most of all, spending time with his family, whom he loved deeply.

David is survived by his children, Keith Mueller (Lauri), Paul Meyer (Lori), Jon Meyer (Lisa), Michelle Loethen (Lance), and Julie Schrimpf (Shannon); his grandchildren, Jared Loethen (Emily), Shelby Williams (Greg), Taylor Wolz (Brian), Kaleb Mueller (Annie), Tristan Schrimpf (Jessi Renn), Tanner Schrimpf, Taylor Meyer, Joseph Meyer, Ashley Meyer, and Clayton Meyer; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Donna; his daughter, Jayme Prenger; and his great-grandchildren, Klaire Loethen and Hallee Williams.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 23, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. A Liturgy Outside of Mass will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Deacon Kliethermes officiating. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

David will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
