Margaret L. Darringer, 90, of Batesville, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was born to parents, James C. and Pearl (Smith) Parker on January 9, 1933 in Jefferson County, Indiana.
Margaret started working at Bob's Truck Stop and then Rosspoint Truck Stop where she served the last and first meals. She went on to work at Hill-Rom for several years and later she and her husband, Joe, owned Morris Tavern and then Napoleon Tavern. She and Joe also owned Darringer Furniture store in Osgood. Margaret retired from the Sherman House Restaurant in Batesville.
She was a member of Pocahontas, VFW Auxiliary Batesville, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie # 1130 Auxiliary.
Margaret is survived by her children, Janet Noble, Edward, and Ken (Connie) Darringer; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren; and brother, Dale Parker (Catherine).
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Pearl Parker; sons, Bob and Mark Darringer; former husband, Joe; siblings, Ethel Lamb, Duard Parker, Clyde Parker, and Nay Parker.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, January 18, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with funeral services on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. all at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville, Indiana. Burial will take place immediately after at Shelby Cemetery South of Versailles.
Memorials may be given to Morning Breeze Activity Fund.
