HOLDEN – Margaret "Peg" "Peggy" "Margo" E. (Fay) Donabedian, 76, passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Notre Dame du Lac after battling Lung Cancer. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late James F. and Margaret E. (Moran) Fay.
Peg graduated from Notre Dame Academy, earned an associate degree from Salter Secretarial School and later a bachelor's degree from Worcester State University.
She married Noel C. Donabedian on September 6, 1969, and they raised their two children in Worcester before moving to Holden over thirty years ago. Peg worked at UMass Memorial Healthcare – University Campus for many years before retiring.
Peg was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and was an active member of the Holden Senior Center and the Holden Garden Club. She enjoyed Tai Chi, gardening, reading, and painting with watercolors. Peg also was an active member of the Tustin Senior Center while wintering in Orange County, CA. Peg was chatty and truly cherished her time with family and friends.
Noel, her beloved husband of 48 years, passed away in 2018. She leaves her son Christopher J. Donabedian of North Tustin, CA; her daughter Michelle McPhie and son-in-law Duncan McPhie of Glasgow, Scotland; her grandsons: Hamish D. P. and Rory D. A.; her brother James F. Fay of Port St. Lucie, FL; her sister Sr. Rosemary Fay, S.N.D., of Worcester; and two nieces and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Peg's family from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 19th at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden. The Liturgy for Peg will be held on Friday, January 20th at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street, Worcester. A private committal service will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Please omit flowers.
