Margaret L. "Marg" Dwyer

Margaret Louise "Marg" Dwyer, 86, of Hutchinson, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born May 15, 1938, in Hutchinson, to Frank and Steffie (Bogdanovecz) Votruba.
Margaret graduated from St. Teresa Catholic High School and earned an AA in Business at Hutchinson Community College. After college, she met the love of her life, Dick Dwyer, and they were married on June 14, 1958, at St Teresa Catholic Church. Lifelong Hutchinson residents, they were blessed with 58 wonderful years of marriage. Margaret was a homemaker; together, they raised 3 children: Debbie, Susie, and Michael. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Margaret and Dick presented "Marriage Encounter" weekends for 9 years and "Evenings for the Engaged" marriage preparation classes for 26 years. She was a long-time member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Margaret loved life and spent time with Dick, enjoying God's nature, taking trips, lake time, reading, playing games, working in the yard with flowers, writing, camping, 4-wheeling in the Sandhills, taking pictures, and being involved in various church groups. She enjoyed her Cursillo faith group each week and playing cards with her two best friends. Margaret was a resource for advice and comfort, had a spontaneous and fun spirit, and had a great thirst for Jesus. She was artistic and enjoyed acrylic, oil, and watercolor painting. Later in life, Margaret found a new passion in photography, and this led her to start a photography business, Mdwyer Originals.
She is survived by: her 3 children, Debbie (Steve) Mullins of Hutchinson, Susie (Mark) Marshall of Wichita, and Michael (Renni) Dwyer of Huntington Beach, CA; grandchildren, Matt (Ashley) Mullins of Hutchinson, Jenny (A.J.) Wilson of Wichita, Chris (De'Nae) Mullins of Hutchinson, Joey (Stacy) Marshall of Derby, Sarah (Brent) Engel of Wichita, Jeremy (Susan) Marshall of Derby, Johnny (Tori) Marshall of Derby, Jamey Marshall and Jessy Marshall of Wichita, Ryan Dwyer and Zac Dwyer of Huntington Beach CA; great-grandchildren, Jasper, Crew, Christian, Claire, Beau, Catherine, Matthew, Patrick, Peter, Elizabeth, Lucas, Maria, Xavier, Gianna, Tacie, Cassie, Katie; and brother, Bob (Barb) Votruba of Texas. She leaves behind many other extended family members and friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Dick, and her parents.
Parish Rosary will be 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. The family will receive friends following the Rosary.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at the church. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Public visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday, May 11, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday, May 12, at Elliott Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established with Holy Cross Catholic Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
