Margaret R. (Casey) Fanning, age 94, an almost 60 year resident of Westford, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late John J. Fanning, Sr., until his passing in 2020.
Born in Somerville on October 23, 1930, a daughter of the late Mary (Dunphy) and Peter Casey.
Margaret and John moved to Westford in 1966 to raise their family, which she devoted her love, time and life to.
She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. Margaret also enjoyed collecting antique furniture, which was known to fill her house with immense joy.
Margaret is survived by her son, Mark Fanning of New Boston, NH; her brother-in-law, William McNeil; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
She was mother of the late John J. Fanning II and sister of the late Mary DeCosta, Barbara McNeil, Patricia Ryan, Francis Casey and William Casey.
Family and friends are invited to Margaret’s Celebration of Life on Wednesday, July 9, 2025 from 4 until 7 PM at the WESTFORD HEALY FUNERAL HOME, 57 N Main Street, Westford. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 10th at 11 AM in ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST CHURCH, 115 Middlesex Street, North Chelmsford. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
