Margaret Galvan

Margaret Barrientes Galvan, a cherished pillar of her community and a beacon of warmth in the lives of many, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in her hometown of Victoria. Born on December 24, 1945, in Victoria, to the late Higino Barrientes and Leonor Martinez. Margaret's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the love she had for her family and friends.
Margaret's early years in Victoria laid the foundation for a life full of joy, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She loved to sew, make tamales, and listen to music. Margaret was a huge Longhorns softball fan and loved to watch football. She enjoyed family time and playing card games, as well as doing puzzles. The family looked forward to enjoying Momo's wonderful brownies.
Margaret is proceeded in death by her siblings, the late Esther Ochoa, Ofelia Garza, Odilia Olivarez, Genavieve Nava, the late Henry Barrientes, Louis Barrientes, and Gilbert Barrientes. Each sibling relationship was unique, a thread in the rich tapestry of her life.
As a mother, Margaret was unparalleled. Her daughters, Olga Sertuche (Daniel) and Julie Galvan (Gilbert), both of Victoria, knew the depth of her love and the strength of her character.
Margaret was a source of unwavering support and joy for her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Jennifer Pena, Adrian (Megan) Pena, Father Aaron Padilla, Sara Pena, Cecilia (Bryan) Galindo; great-grandchildren, Jasmin, Zayden, Braelyn, Noah, Madison, and Luke all knew the special place they held in their grandmother's heart. Her guidance and wisdom were gifts that they will carry with them always.
Survived by her brother, Felix Barrientes of Port Lavaca, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will begin on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at 5 pm - 8 pm at Angel Lucy's Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 6 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church with a burial to follow at Noble San Jose in Fannin, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Allen Dale Martinez, John Garza, Joe Garza, Daniel Sertuche, Gilbert Galvan, and Adrian Pena.
