Margaret Gibson Obituary
Mrs. Gibson was born on December 26, 1931, in Anderson, SC. She was the daughter of the late Wilton Allen Bannister and the late Kara Keaton Bannister. She was married to the late James "Buddy" Malcomb Gibson. She was member of Boulevard Baptist Church.
She loved to read and enjoyed the many beach trips she had over the years. She was a devoted Christian mother whose faith in Jesus Christ deeply influenced her actions to raise her girls with strong values. She taught by example; honesty, morals, faith and love. Mrs. Gibson believed in having faith daily, not just on Sundays. Each time she saw or spoke to her family, she would always say, "I am praying for you every day." And she did.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Freeman (Steven, her late husband) and Jolynne Beck (Wayne); grandchildren, Russ, April, Josh (Brooke), Patrick (Kelsey), Amy (Jason) and special bonus grandchild, Tim (Lindsey): great grandchildren; Kayla, Brayden, Mason, Abby, Emma, and bonus great grandchild Scotlyn; great-great grandchildren, Cayden, Emma and Liam; and sisters, Vivian Bannister DuBaere (Kenny, her late husband) and Mary Bannister Hurt (Lee).
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by a brother, Ken Bannister and a sister, Betty Bannister Drake.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm, at New Silverbrook Cemetery. Reverend Jack Couch will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Boulevard Baptist Church.
