M. Ann (Pearson) Gilleland – age 89 of Kansas City, MO (formerly of Gower, MO) passed away peacefully, November 13th at American House of Burlington Creek surrounded by family. Ann was born on July 5, 1936, the daughter of Lynn & Martha (Mallen) Pearson in Gower, MO. Ann was a graduate of Gower High School in 1954, she was united in marriage to Jon Gilleland on June 12, 1955 at Grayson Community Church.
They welcomed two daughters Kathi and Lori. Ann was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Ann was the consummate homemaker, she was the best cook and cared for not only her own two girls, but many other children through the years.
She was a member of Briarcliff Church, and through the years she served in Vacation Bible School, and various committees and again cared for children in the nursery.
Ann was proceeded in death by her parents and both of her sisters Mary Lou Bailey and M. Jane Williams.
She is survived by her husband Jon of 70 years, her two daughters Kathi (Bob) Horn and Lori (Dwain) Bauer both of Kansas City, MO, 5 grandchildren Ryan (Lindee) Horn of Gower, Jonathan (Regan) Horn of Kirkwood, Kyle (Laura) McPhee of Kearney, Lauren (Johnny) Lawrence of Kansas City, Kelsie Bauer of Seattle, Washington and 11 great-grandchildren Azelie, Wesley, June, Barrett, Dakota, Nolan, Maclin, Ainsley, Kinnon, Abigail & Kyren.
Services will be held at Parklawn North Chapel on Tuesday November 18th, with visitation beginning at 10am, followed by the funeral service at 11am, and burial at Allen Cemetery in Gower, MO. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
