Margaret P. "Nellie" Ginther, 99, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Tuesday August 12, 2025 in the Adena Greenfield Medical Center. She was born on October 7, 1925 in Chillicothe, the daughter of William and Nellie (Horn) Ginther.
Surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Florence Thibault, Carrie Kern, Mary Bigler, and Sarah Gunlock, and brothers, Fred, Ralph, and George Ginther.
Nellie began her career at Mead Corp. in February 1945 in the shipping department, then transferred to the purchasing department. Over her 50 years of service, she also held various secretarial positions in many departments, including: engineering, corporate offices, and OPAS. She retired in 1995 as the Administrative Assistant to the president of the company. She loved baking, sewing, gardening, and traveling, and participating in the church. She was also an avid OSU and Cincinnati Reds fan. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Nellie was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Peter Catholic Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 12:00 p.m. Saturday August 16, 2025 with Fr. Stanislaus John, Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Margaret Cemetery. Public calling hours will not be observed. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Adena Hospice.
