Devoted mother and grandmother, Ingrid Ginther, 83, of Carmi passed away at 4:16 p.m., on Friday, October 17, 2025 at Bethel Manor in Evansville, IN. She was born in Munich, Germany on June 15, 1942 the daughter of Ernst Levi and Theresia Mueller. Ingrid married Ronald Lee Given and he preceded her in death on September 6, 1969, She later married Perry L. Ginther on October 8, 1971 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 1998. Ingrid had worked at a receptionist at Yoos Chiropractic Clinic in Grayville. She was a devoted Christian women who was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Albion. Over the years, she had served as a Sunday School teacher, lead bible studies, sent out daily devotionals to her friends and family and started the Angels in Bloom group at Evergreen Acres, where she had been a resident for over 21 years. Ingrid was a active parent, serving as a Girl Scout parent and serving on the Raintree Council, a Grayville Teen Town chaperone and the TGIF After School program in Grayville. For many years, Ingrid assisted at Campbell Funeral Home with answering the phones. She loved to quilt, crochet, needlepoint and bake.
Ingrid is survived by her children, Melody (Alan) Roberson of Evansville, IN, Tammy Schmittler of Phillipstown, Michele (Kent) Noblett of Evansville, IN and Perry "Fritz" (Melinda) Ginther of Crossville; a step daughter, Shary (Jim) Spadoni of Richmond, VA; nine grandchildren, Eric (Miranda) Knight, Zac (Rhea) Veatch, Gretchen (Caleb) Lydick, Hans (Darrian) Schmittler, Adam (Melanie) Noblett, Nate (Kennedy) Noblett, Ryan (El) Ginther, Emily (Layne Stockton) Ginther and Tiffany (Roy) Fatur; 11 great-grandchildren and several German cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 27 years, Perry; a step-daughter, Linda Huntley and a son-in-law, Bryan Schmittler.
A private family graveside service and burial for Ingrid Ginther, 83, of Carmi will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Grayville.
