Margaret J. Bires Hammerbeck, 95, of Warren, PA. and a resident of the Rouse Suites, Youngsville, PA. died Saturday morning, August 16, 2025, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home, Warren, PA. Margaret was born June 10, 1930, in Ludlow, PA. She was the daughter of George J. and Mary Steffan Bires. She was a longtime Warren area resident, living in Philadelphia, PA. for 11 years. Margaret was a 1948 graduate of Sheffield High School and completed commercial studies at the former Hoff Business College. She was employed with the former New Process Company, Family Services of Warren County, and G.T.E. Sylvania. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, where she volunteered in the church soup kitchen. Margaret was very interested in the Eucharistic Adoration Program at her church. She was an avid reader, golfer, embroidery, sewing and enjoyed making ceramics.

Margaret is survived by her son – Kurt Hammerbeck and his wife, Tracy of Stokesdale, N.C., 1 Brother – Robert Bires and his wife, Karen of Youngsville, PA., 2 Grandchildren – Faith Elizabeth and Will Hammerbeck, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Robert J. Hammerbeck, whom she married May 12, 1956, in Sheffield, PA. who died October 14, 2013, infant daughter, Jill Ann who died October 27, 1957, 1 Sister – Mary Metzgar and brother-in-law, Edward, 2 Brothers – Bernard and George Bires, sister-in-law, Mary Kay Bires.

Friends and family will be received at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA. on Saturday, August 30, 2025, one hour prior to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Richard C. Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through the Warren Y.M.C.A., 212 Lexington Avenue, Warren, PA. 16365.
