Alice I. Hammerbeck, 86, of Superior, died Friday, May 24, 2024, in St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth, with family present.
She was born on February 17, 1938, in Bennett, WI, the daughter of Mary (Filek) and Jerome Nollet.
On June 5, 1954, Alice Irene Nollet and Robert Andrew Hammerbeck, Jr. were united in marriage in Carlton, MN.
She worked as a receptionist for 45 years for Weight Watchers, was a homemaker, and helped her husband in their construction business. Alice was a member of Bayside Baptist Church, Superior. She was known as a great cook and baker, and also enjoyed cake decorating. The neighborhood kids loved to come for cookies. Most important to her was her family, and she especially loved spending time with her great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Timothy in 2006; and brother, Edward Nollet.
Alice is survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Robert; children, Rob (Terri) Hammerbeck of South Range, Debbie (George) Love, and Daniel Hammerbeck both of Casa Grande, AZ; grandchildren, Andy (Rachel) Hammerbeck, Ryan (Carissa) Hammerbeck, Travis (Katie) Hammerbeck, Dustin (Sharlee) Love, Mitchell (Amanda) Love, and Danielle (David) Owen; and 11 great grandchildren, Riley, Ashley, Bodey, Reese, Hailee, and Zeke Love, Aiden and Natalie Hammerbeck, Samuel and Hope Owen, and Eric Hammerbeck.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 29th from 1:00 until the 2:00 p.m. service at Bayside Baptist Church, 3915 N. 16th Street, Superior. Reverend Tom Bush will officiate.
The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
