Ann Marie Kaushagen, 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Dove Healthcare in Superior, WI. She was born to Alfred Baumgartner and Joanna (Lisorska) on March 9, 1943 in Hildesheim, Germany. Early in life, Ann immigrated from Germany to the United States where she attended and graduated from Tollman High School, in Pawtucket, RI, class of 1961. In the early 1970’s, Ann moved to Minnesota where she raised her family, found employment and continued her education at Rainy River Community College. She was employed by International Falls Senior Living – Good Samaritan Center for several years. She met and then married Dennis Kaushagen and they celebrated years 13 wonderful years together.
Ann was a loving mother and homemaker. She delighted in spending time with her family and was a devoted Christian. She enjoyed gardening, cooking traditional polish dishes, and watching professional wrestling on television.
Ann is survived by her children, Norman Achin, Woodbridge, Virginia; Scott Achin, Winneconne, Wisconsin; and Heidi Achin, Superior, Wisconsin; grandchildren: Jordan Achin, Superior, Wisconsin; Riley Achin, Winneconne, WI; Sydney Achin, Franklin, Wisconsin; and Isabella Achin, Woodbridge, Virgina.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; brother Al Gartner; and sister Lydia Baumgartner.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Dove Healthcare for the care shown to Ann.
Per Ann’s wishes, no services will be held.
A private burial will be at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket RI at a later date.
