Margaret Kohls Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 15, 2025.
It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of Margaret "Peggy" Kohls. Peggy passed away on November 11th, 2025, at home with her loving husband and best friend, Paul at her side. She bravely battled breast cancer for 11 months and tried her best to kick cancers butt all along the way.
Peggy is survived by her daughter, Kelly, sisters Julie and Susan, brothers Mike and Tom, and her loving husband Paul.
Peggy was an avid crafter, fisherman and supporter of organizations like Safe Journey, where she volunteered her time and energy counseling women suffering from domestic abuse.
Peggy and Paul were married on the beach in Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Per her request, ashes will be dispersed in the ocean near the beach where she was married as well as on her beloved Fish Trap Lake in northern Minnesota.
Our hearts are filled with gratitude for the love Peggy received from her family, friends, and home health/hospice caregivers – especially a wonderful lady named Maggie.
There will be a celebration of life for Peggy next spring at the cabin on Fish Trap – details to follow later.

What memories of chasing turtles in Mud Turtle Bay, flying in the airplane, learning to drive the Fiat and wearing plastic wigs. Decorating the Christmas tree, and of course the year we made our own skirts, albeit they were so slim we could barely walk in them. Peg was talented on the flute, and her sound carried across the bay. We went downtown every week to study music at the MacPhail Center for Music and Arts as young girls, learning to play the huge church organ that took up one whole wall of the living room. Our furry sister was named Molly Cat. Peg was extremely intelligent, however we all agreed that Sue's intelligence surpassed us. Her skills at mathematics were utilized as VP of Loans for the local bank and later in a stock brokerage firm. These are just a few of the memories of a life fully lived during her time on earth. Her family nickname was Pooh Bear. Rest in Peace Pooh Bear. God Bless your soul. Your sister Julie Jo
