Margaret Ann Linz, affectionately known as Peg by all who knew her, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on October 10, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland, she was a beacon of love and kindness throughout her life, touching the hearts of many with her spirited nature.
Peg was born and raised in Northeast Baltimore by parents Mary Jo and Edward Tracy and sister Patricia. Her love story with the late Edward Charles Linz blossomed into a 44-year marriage of mutual respect and affection, creating a family legacy that would be her pride and joy.
As a devoted mother, Peg's nurturing spirit shone brightly through her children, Laura Mitchell and her husband James, David Linz and his wife Barbara, and Thomas Linz and his wife Julie. Her role as a cherished grandmother to Molly, TJ, Emily, Meghan, and Summer Linz was one she embraced with every fiber of her being, instilling in them values of love, kindness, and the importance of family. She cherished the moments spent with her children and grandchildren, understanding that these precious times were the threads that wove the fabric of lasting memories.
Peg worked as a stay-at-home Mom while her children were in school. She actively participated as a room mother, and even organized a fundraising spaghetti dinner. Peg and Edward cultivated longtime friendships in Harford County- participating in tennis and bowling leagues and enjoying simple backyard cookouts.
She also had a fulfilling career working at Harford County Circuit Court until retirement. Her coworkers remember her as a fun and caring colleague.
Peg's interests reflected the very essence of who she was-a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life such as annual family vacations in Ocean City, Maryland. Christmas Eve was a special occasion in the Linz household, a tradition Peg held dear and celebrated with laughter, love, and the sharing of blessings. Her enthusiasm for the Baltimore Ravens was contagious, bringing excitement and camaraderie to every game day.
A devout Catholic, Peg's strong faith was the cornerstone of her life. It guided her through times of joy and sorrow, and she drew strength from her beliefs, her church community, and the peace she found in prayer.
Peg will be remembered as a woman who lived her life with love at the forefront. Loving, kind, and funny are the words that best describe her, but they only scratch the surface of the remarkable person she was. Her legacy is one of compassion, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to her family.
Family and friends will honor and celebrate Peg's life at the Evans Life Celebration Home-3 Newport Drive (Rts 23 and 24) Forest Hill on Monday, November 11 from 5-7 PM. A Memorial Mass will be held 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Ignatius Church with inurnment in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions in Peg's name may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

In 1971, after the death of my best friend Tom Magrogan, I found the Linz family. Ed and I became fast friends; and, he was the best man in my wedding. Ed and Peggy were a wonderful couple and we enjoyed many fun times on Woodring Avenue. Our weekly card game also produced a memory that I will have forever. It was my turn to bring the snacks for the game. Sometime during the game, I got mad about something and stormed out of the house, taking my snacks with me. This became a running joke that Peg would remind me about when we were in each other's company. It was a pleasure to watch Laura, Dave and Tom grow up and become outstanding adults. Peggy was a great Mom and she instilled in her children the meaning of family love and unity. The world was a better place by having her in it. She will be missed by all that knew her.

After the death of my best friend, Tom Magrogan, his classmate Ed Linz became the next in line. Ed and Peggy were a wonderful couple and I spent many happy hours at their home on Woodring Ave. Peggy was a great hostess. Weekly card games were fun. At one game, it was my time to bring the snacks. During the game, I got mad about something and scooped up all the snacks and left the house. After that, Peg would always tease me about taking "my snacks".
Peggy and Ed are reunited forever. God bless them both.
