Margaret Ann Prothero, 76, passed away August 15, 2025 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.

Maggie was born April 2, 1949 to Ralph and Mary (Elbert) Shaffer in Fort Dodge, Iowa. She graduated high school in Des Moines, IA. Maggie loved her sweet cat, Bella, who will miss her dearly. She loved puzzle games, decorating, shopping and baking and especially spending time with her grandkids.

Maggie's employment consisted of working in the bindery and starting her own cleaning business in Des Moines. She continued her love of cleaning after she moved to Fond du Lac in 2000 until her retirement. Maggie loved not only cleaning for her clients but enjoyed spending time and talking with them. She became a member of Holy Family Catholic Community when she moved to Fond du Lac in 2000.

Maggie is survived by her husband Jimmie Prothero; children Michelle Carroll (Marvin) and Joseph Prothero (Cheralie); siblings Jane Pickett (Keith) and Tom Shaffer (Diane); sister-in-law Eyvonne Thomas (Dennis); grandchildren Jenna McCuen (Zack), John Serverino III (Emily), Justin Severino (Aaliyah), Kaylynn, Zechariah, Elizabeth, Joselyn and Ezekiel; great grandchildren Mia, Kameran, Tilly, Nellie, Jasper and Justin Jr.; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Mary Shaffer.

Maggie's family will greet friends at Zacherl Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 19, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Memorial contributions can be made to Holy Family Catholic Community or Sandy Paws Rescue, Inc.
