Margaret “Margie” Gloria Manquero, 75, of Amarillo passed peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on November 10, 2025.
The family will receive guests at Angel Funeral Home, 2209 S Arthur, on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm. Margie’s life will be celebrated on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 10 am at St Matthew’s Methodist Church, 1631 S Roberts, with Reverend Emmanuel Burgos presiding. Per the family’s request, if you would like to bring food to their home, kindly consider bringing it to the church for lunch following the service.
Margaret Gloria Preciado was born on May 2, 1950 in Amarillo to Jesus and Socorro (Gonzales) Preciado. She attended Caprock High School and would later obtain her Graduate Equivalency Degree. On April 18, 2017, she married Cruz Manquero. Margie attended St Matthew’s Methodist Church and was a firm believer in Jesus Christ.
Margie was an incredibly hard worker. She worked at United Filters for 10 years, before working in the home and business restoration for A-Town Restoration for fifteen plus years bringing fire and smoke damaged structures back to life. Margie had a green thumb and had a knack for bringing plants back to life. Margie kept many beautiful plants and flowers in her home, making it a bright and vibrant space for everyone to enjoy. She was meticulous about cleaning her home, and it was more of a hobby than a chore. Margie also collected many different knickknacks such as birds, teapots, and other tiny things. In her down time, she enjoyed puzzles and thrift store shopping hopping to land a good deal.
Margie’s greatest achievement was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were her pride and joy and her love for them was unconditional.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Virginia Chavez and Amelia Preciado, and brother, Jesus “Richie” Preciado. Those left to cherish her memories are her husband, Cruz, daughter, Lupe Anjelica, sons, Ray “Ricky” Kendall and wife Jane, Marin Bitela Jr, Jesse Bitela and wife Juanita, and Marcos Lujan and wife Brenda; sisters, Pauline Salazar and husband Frank, and Linda Sanders and husband Barry, half sister, Christina Velasco; and her beloved 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Margie also leaves many extended family and cherished friends.
