It is with deep love and heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Margaret Marchesa, who passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, at the age of 82. Born in Queens, New York, Margaret was the cherished daughter of William Cobb and Lillian Lues. She grew up with a strong sense of family and compassion - qualities that would define her throughout her life. Margaret married William Marchesa, her devoted husband and love of her life, with whom she built a loving home filled with warmth, laughter, and faith. Together they raised their children - Michele, Patty, the late Michael, Jennifer and the late Valarie- instilling in them the values of kindness, loyalty, and love of family. Her family grew even further with her children's spouses, whom the loved like her own; Brad, Chris, Jen and Tom. A proud grandmother, Margaret found her greatest joy in her 15 grandchildren; Brendan, Peyton, Teague, Asher, Trinity, Mila, Tanner, Maggie, Ava, Zackary, Dylan, Talon, Willow, Ember, and Lotus. To each of them she was not only "Ema" but a source of wisdom, comfort and unconditional love. With a big heart and even bigger voice, Margaret's life revolved around her family. She was known for her famous Sunday dinners, where everyone gathered around her table to share stories, laughter, and the love that bound them all together. Her devotion to "family above all else" was not just a saying- it was the guiding principle of her life. As described by a friend, "Margaret was a vibrant and funny with a big personality. She was an iconic presence and a force in our formative years." Those words capture her spirit perfectly- bold, loving, and unforgettable. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. We find comfort and peace in knowing that she is reunited with her beloved children, Michael and Valarie, and her dear parents, William and Lillian, and that she now rests in peace. A viewing will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and again on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM and burial at Mount Repose Cemetery, corner of Route 9W & Route 202, Haverstraw, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend and celebrate Margaret's remarkable life and the love she so freely gave.Though she might be gone from our sight, her love, laughter, and strength will forever live in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
