Margaret “Margie” Brehm Hall, aged 89, of Denver, Colorado passed away on March 20, 2024.  She was born in Hancock, Michigan to the late Reverend William Earl Brehm and Mabel Meyerhein Brehm.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sister Mary Ethel Brehm Norris; daughters Bonnie Hall (Robert Chubrilo), Sherri Hall Ives, and Karen Thompson (Jeff Bilyeu); grandchildren Brandon Ives, Mallory Ives, Seth Ives, Tamara Hines, Crystal Thompson, Donnie Thompson, and Sarina Thompson; many beloved nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

Margie spent her formative years in Des Plaines, Illinois where she attended Maine Township High School and where her father was a Congregational minister.  She attended Ohio Weslyan University, where she met her future husband, Ralph E. Hall Jr.   While raising their three children in Englewood, Colorado, she was an active member of multiple parent organizations and committees in the local public school district. During the same period, she was also a dedicated volunteer for United Way.

Once she became an empty nester, Margie earned a B.A. in business at Loretto Heights University.  She subsequently worked at Samsonite Corporation then Storage Technology Corporation.  She liked the fast pace of the manufacturing setting and proudly referred to herself as a “crisis junkie”.  In 1984, she found her true professional niche in entrepreneurship, owning and operating Mole Hole gift shops in Denver and Summit County, Colorado. She retired in 2017 after 33 years in this business. Her affection for her customers and employees kept her going despite economic and industry setbacks during those years.

A gifted listener, Margie made everyone she encountered feel special. She had a sparkling sense of humor and an easy laugh.  Her fun-loving nature was constant, and she never wanted to miss an adventure, event, or occasion. Her love and support of her daughters was unwavering and unconditional. All of her friends and family experienced the warm cheer she always brought with her.

In childhood, Margie was an avid fan of Cubs baseball, and in adulthood of Rockies baseball. She was a Denver Broncos season ticket holder for 62 years.  She loved to travel. She enjoyed books and movies, long walks, trips to the botanic gardens and the zoo, dinners out with friends and family, and symphony concerts with her dear friend Peggy. She loved flowers, cats and dogs, babies, and ice cream. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial celebration will be held 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2024 at Eisenhower Chapel 293 Roslyn Street, Denver, CO 80230.

In lieu of flowers please donate in Margie’s memory to Denver Botanic Gardens, Denver Zoo or to another zoo or botanic gardens of your choice.
