In Loving Memory of Margaret "Peggy" Martinez

Margaret "Peggy" Martinez, age 79, of Azusa, California, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.

Born on December 1, 1945, in Monrovia, California, Peggy was one of four children raised by Fernando and Antonia Rubio. She grew up with laughter and strong family values that she carried on throughout her life.

She is survived by her devoted siblings: brother Tony Rubio and spouse Loraine, brother Fernando Rubio Jr. and spouse Vicky, and sister Roberta Rubio.

Peggy was a devoted mother survived by her two children: Salvador (Sal) Martinez III and his spouse Ana, and Yvonne (Michelle) McMurray and her spouse Frank McMurray.

Her legacy lives on through her seven grandchildren: Kelcey Anderson, Christopher Valdez, Curtis Anderson, Joseph Martinez, Elizabeth Martinez, Ryan Anderson, and Christian Martinez.

She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Alexander Rodriguez, Analia Martinez, Laila Valdez, Enzo Rodriguez, and Grace Valdez.

Peggy will be remembered for her kindness, hard work, and her unwavering dedication of over 50 years giving back to her community of Azusa through her involvements with the City of Azusa Downtown Business Association, Azusa Sister City as President (Sister City with Zacatecas, Mexico), Azusa Golden Days Committee as President and eventually selected as an Azusa Golden Days Honored Citizen, Head of Mariachi USA Youth Program, and the Head of the Azusa Miss Teen Pageantry. Through her years of dedication, precision, leadership, and mentorship will be passed on for years to come.

Memorial and Service will also be held in Azusa, California in November. On November 19, 2025, at Whites Funeral Home, 404 E. Foothill Blvd, Azusa CA, 91702, Gathering/Eulogy will be from 5:00PM – 7:00, Rosary will be 7:00PM – 7:30PM. November 20, 2025, at Saint Francis of Rome, 501 E. Foothill Blvd, Azusa, CA, 91702, Mass will be held 10:00AM – 11:00AM. Reception to follow at the VFW Post 8070, 250 East 1st Street, Azusa, CA, 91702, 11:30AM – 3:30PM.

Peggy's legacy will be her integrity, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and the City of Azusa.
