Margaret M. Menzies of Trumansburg passed away at home on April 17, 2025 at the age of 91.
Born on July 1, 1933, in Ithaca, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Laura (Gorton) Lotito. Margaret worked for several years at Emerson Power Transmission.
A gentle soul with a servants' heart, Margaret was always eager to lend a helping hand. Her passion for knitting and crocheting brought comfort not only to her loved ones but also to countless individuals who benefited from the patterns she created. Additionally, she delighted in completing jigsaw and word puzzles and enjoyed having a cup, or more, of coffee with her favorite flavored creamer. Margaret was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Trumansburg
She is survived by three children, Mary (Robert) Cummings, Barbara (Jim) Elmore, and Nancy Menzies; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a sister, Helen Franczek. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Menzies; daughter, Alice Menzies; and son, James Menzies.
The family will be present to receive friends from 11:00am to 1:00pm on Monday, April 21, 2025 at Ness-Sibley Funeral Home, 23 South Street, Trumansburg. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm on Monday at Brookton Cemetery, formerly Quick Cemetery, in Brooktondale.
