Margaret Elaine Minton, age 74, of Biloxi, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born in 1949 in Montgomery, Alabama to the parents of Margaret Evelyn Whiddon and Manning Whiddon. Her father passed when she was a teen. Her stepfather, Richard Heise, married her mother Evelyn and loved Margaret, her twin brother Michael Whiddon, and her oldest brother Taylor Whiddon as his own. She worked as a licensed hairdresser, Registered Nurse, postal worker, and homemaker.

Margaret was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and their spouses and embraced every moment with them. She especially enjoyed her role as Grandma. She always made friends wherever she went.  Teaching Sunday School, working with ministries in the church, helping foster children, and studying the Bible were important to her. Crocheting, sharing her testimony, cooking, praying for her family, and singing were always enjoyed with her kids and grandchildren. Sharing an encouraging word and always being there to listen to her friends and family will forever be missed.

Margaret is survived by her husband, John Thomas Minton; son, Manning Minton (Jennifer); daughter, Evelyn Sacks (Marx); ten grandchildren; brother, Taylor Whiddon (Linda); and her poodle, Gracie. Her grandchildren were her heart- William Minton, Emily Minton, Matthew Minton, Maggie Sacks, Thomas Sacks, Lydia Sacks, Richard Sacks, Ruby Sacks, Michael Sacks, and Eva Sacks.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Cleveland Student Ministry, P.O. Box 250, Cleveland, Georgia, 30528 or Woolmarket Baptist Church Student Ministry, 12816 Lorraine Road, Biloxi, MS 39532 (Woolmarketbaptistchurch.com).

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, Biloxi, MS. Friends may visit one hour before. Interment will follow at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
