Margaret Walker Moore, née Cox, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, in Orange County, North Carolina, at the age of 67. Born on September 24, 1958, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Margaret was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.
Margaret dedicated her professional life to healthcare as a Sleep Technician, where her keen attention to detail and compassionate nature made her an invaluable asset to her team. Her colleagues often remarked on her ability to catch things others overlooked, and she was as proficient in performing phlebotomy and EKGs as she was in providing comfort and care, becoming affectionately known as the "Family Doctor" despite not holding a medical degree.
In her personal life, Margaret had a passion for helping others and never hesitated to extend a hand to anyone in need. Her love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her grandkids, captivating them with stories and indulging their every wish. An avid traveler, she found joy in visiting beaches and mountains, where she reveled in the beauty of water and nature.
Margaret's enthusiasm for family history made her the family's detective, piecing together ancestry with dedication and love. She also enjoyed murder mystery movies, adding a dash of intrigue to her leisure time. Known for her generous spirit, Margaret never met a stranger and was known to feed everyone exactly what they wanted, ensuring all felt valued and welcome in her home.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Beeler and Imogene Duncan; her son, Wayne Walker; her great-grandson, Karson Walker; and her brothers, Jackie Beeler, Randy Beeler, Ricky Beeler, and Edward Hayes, as well as her stepmother, Lena Beeler.
She is survived and deeply mourned by her devoted husband of 35 years, Lewis Moore; her daughters, Elizabeth Gonzalez (Benjamin), Lestley Ellington (Billy), Michelle Moore (Latricia), and Melissa Stuart (Brandon); her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Gladys Beeler; her brothers, Michael Hayes, James Cox, and Raymond Beeler (Donna); and her faithful canine companion, Sam, a Terrier mix.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date, where friends and loved ones will gather to celebrate Margaret's remarkable life and the indelible mark she left on all who knew her.
