Margaret Lee (DeMott) Mullis, 78, of Perry, Georgia passed away peacefully on July 27, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 11:00 am at First Christian Church of Perry with Pastor Tyler Winn and Pastor Ron Nolan officiating. Family will greet friends wishing to offer their condolences 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be at Magnolia Park Cemetery, Warner Robins, immediately following the service.
Margaret was raised in Moultrie, Georgia by her loving parents, Walter and Mattie DeMott. She devoted her life to her family and friends.
Margaret welcomed everyone into her home, greeted them with a smile and hug, and made them laugh with her spunky fun-loving personality. She made friends feel like family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and caregiver. Margaret spent most of her adult life caring for her children, aging parents, in-laws, and late husband, Calvin R. Mullis. She was an active member at First Christian Church of Perry for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed participating in craft shows with her church friends, decorating her home, and traveling. She also deeply loved the family pets she had throughout her life.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin R. Mullis, parents, Walter and Mattie DeMott, brother, Rudolph Smith, sisters-in-law, Nadine Smith and Frances Baggett.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving children: Deborah Franklin (Wayne), Bonaire, GA; Miranda Baggett, Perry, GA; and Brad Mullis, Elko, GA; her 3 grandchildren: Brandy Snyder (John), Allen Franklin (Molly), and Brendan Mullis; her 5 great-grandchildren; her brother Wayne DeMott (Sandra), Largo, FL; as well as numerous nieces and cousins.
Margaret was known for her classy style.
She loved colorful clothing and sparkly jewelry. In her honor, the family suggests attendees wear something colorful.
Flowers are encouraged. Donations can also be made in Margaret's memory to Agape Care Group Hospice in Warner Robins. 645 Tallulah Trail Ste 202
