Margaret "Peggy" Searle Robert passed away peacefully into the arms of her Savior on Thursday, November 9, 2023.
Peggy was born to Francis O'Hern Searle and Margaret Reilly Searle on August 10, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Peggy, upon graduating with honors from Marquette Catholic High School, attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University (OU), where she earned a bachelor's degree in political science in 1959. During her attendance at OU, she was an active member of Chi Omega sorority and the Newman Club.
Unrelenting in her pursuit of higher education, coupled with her avid desire to teach, Peggy earned an additional bachelor's degree, specializing in special education and bi-lingual studies, from the University of Houston and a master's degree in education from Texas Southern University.
Peggy's teaching career branched over 25 years and she adored every one of her students as well as her role as an educator. Peggy's drive and determination remains instilled within her three (3) daughters, Emilie, Rachel, and Sidney. Peggy loved and adored each of her daughters and was extremely proud of their individual achievements and accomplishments. However, the ultimate love and light of Peggy's life was her husband, Edward Emile Robert. Through 55 years of marriage, the couple were each other's best friend and remain partners forever.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Edward, her daughters, Dr. Emilie Searle Robert, Rachel Robert Maysey (Matthew), and Sidney Francis Robert. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jordan Mei-Ling MacKinnon (David) and Connor Sun-Han Wong (Danielle) along with her great-grandchildren; Callum MacKinnon and Chandler Wong.
A rosary is scheduled at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, followed by the Funeral mass, commencing at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2023. Interment to take place at 1:45 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.
