Margaret Helen Royston (b. 1950), née Boland, passed away peacefully at her home April 30, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. Margaret was a remarkable woman: a wife of over fifty years, a wonderful mom to three children and like a mom to two more, an adoring grandmother, a loyal friend. Her care and concern did not end with her family and friends-it extended to everyone she met, especially those who might need help. People knew they could go to Margaret for support, advice, or assistance. She was incredibly capable and fiercely loving, a true force of nature.

Margaret juggled different career paths and jobs throughout her life, but always returned to art, especially painting and sewing. She divided her time between the Chicagoland area and Saugatuck-Douglas in Michigan, where she and her family enjoyed their summer home. She is very keenly missed by her husband Bill Royston; her children Christina and Anne Royston and Ryan and Heather Bigeck; and her grandson Evan Royston-Glick.

Margaret was an avid public media supporter. Donations in her memory can be made to WTTW (PBS) at https://secure.wttw.com/honor_memorial.
