With great sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret Evon Ruiz Moody, age 71. She passed away Friday evening January 3, 2025 at Oak Ridge Methodist Medical Center. She lived in the Medford area of Rocky Top with the love of her life, her husband of 21 years, Gregory Moody. She is survived by her children, Gina Ruiz and partner Jason Williams of Clinton, Whitney Spears and husband Steven of Powell, Scott Moody and partner Kelly of Charleston, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Alexis Davis and partner Kyle Reynolds of Lenoir City, Matthew Davis of Powell and Mason Moody of Clinton, her brothers Mike Ruiz of Rocky Top and Carlos Ruiz of Hollister, California, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins in California. She was preceded in death by her parents Trinidad and Lupe Ruiz, sisters: Linda Guzman and Nancy Ruiz, and her brother Arnold Ruiz. She loved to care for others and worked in the healthcare field for 46 years. Besides her children, she loved her two dogs, Linda and Bobby, and her two cats, Harley and Piggy. She spent her last days doing what she loved, watching Yellowstone and soap operas and working puzzles. She was well loved and will be greatly missed by many.
