Margaret T Sullivan, 81, died peacefully March 2, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. A resident of Wall Township, Margaret grew up in Cliffwood Beach, NJ. She attended Jersey City College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education en route to a career as a school teacher. A drive along Rt. 66 to California in her 20s spurred a love of travel for Margaret. Upon retirement as a kindergarten teacher at Helping Hand Nursery School in Neptune, NJ, she traveled the world with family and friends seeing locales that her teenage self never would have imagined. Margaret was an active member of the Manasquan Presbyterian Church and spent her free time volunteering at the various committees.
Margaret's husband of 37 years, John W, predeceased her. She is survived by children Kathleen S Clendinning and her husband Tony of Lurgan, Northern Ireland, John Sullivan and his wife Susie of Forked River, NJ, and Daniel Sullivan of Morristown, NJ. She is survived by grandchildren Sarah, Nicola, Kaitlyn, and William, and great granddaughter Grace. Additionally, she is survived by her brother Tom Tenore and her niece Dee Tenore-Pfeiffer of Matawan, NJ. Preceding her in death are her parents, Anthony and Louise Tenore, and nephew TJ Tenore.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service for Margaret that will be on March 9, 2025 at Manasquan Presbyterian Church in Manasquan, NJ. A private burial will be held at Saint Anne Cemetery in Wall, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Margaret's name to Manasquan Presbyterian Church.
