Margaret Wasilewski

Margaret Wasilewski, 93, of War, West Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Born on July 4, 1932, in Filbert, WV, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Belco Wargo.
Margaret was a resident of War since 1961, where she lived a full and faithful life devoted to her family, her faith, and her community. She was a longtime, active member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a cherished member of the St. Mary's Altar Society. Margaret loved to cook for others, found joy in reading, and always made those around her feel welcome and loved.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom Wasilewski; her daughter, Teresa Ann Wasilewski; sisters, Elizabeth Cassett, Helen Giles, Mary Williams, Sue Terry, Ann Riffe, and Baby Mary Wargo; brothers, Joseph, George, John, Frank, and Michael Wargo; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Wasilewski.
Margaret leaves behind a legacy of love and faith. She is survived by her daughter, Mary (Bernie) Spencer of War, WV; her son, Thomas Wasilewski of Tazewell, VA; her sister, Julia Blevins of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Anne-Marie Spencer of Las Vegas, NV, Carrie Leigh (Billy) Vandyke of War, WV, Zak Thomas Wasilewski of Tazewell, VA, and Karlee (Logan) Surface of Jonesboro, TN; great-grandchildren Jason Robey Brown II, Liam Thomas Vandyke, Jaxon Wasilewski, Ben Bragg, and Noah Bragg.; her Special daughters, Bonnie Rose and Janie Hicks; and a host of friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Tazewell, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM by Father Renier Supranes. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA. Serving as pallbearers will be Zak Wasilewski, Robey Brown, Liam Vandyke, Billy Vandyke, Ben Bragg, Noah Bragg, and Logan Surface.
