Malgorzata (Margaret) Wilk, also adoringly known by her nickname Gosia, passed away in her home in Franconia on July 20, 2025, at the age of 56. Throughout her formidable battle with brain cancer, she faced every challenge with the courage, grace, and spirit for which she was always known.
Margaret was born in Wroclaw, Poland on October 6, 1968. She was a dedicated preschool teacher at the Salem Boys and Girls Club for 14 years. After moving up to Franconia, she found her place at Lowes in the paint department where she made many friends. She had an immense appreciation for nature and the outdoors and was so gratified to have made the Franconia Notch in the White Mountains her home. Gosia’s creative eye was unparalleled, and she would routinely capture natural beauty from a perspective only she could find. Her creativity also manifested itself in many precious and intricate crafts which she was too modest to share beyond a small circle. Some of her many hobbies were photography, crafting (especially handmade cards), gardening, biking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and traveling with her husband. She loved spending time with her family and especially found joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Gosia is survived by her husband George Wilk, mother Joanna Franczak (94), brother Piotr Franczak and his family, son David (Lauren) Wilk, daughter Pauline (Nick) Letizio, son Michael Wilk, and grandchildren Calvin Letizio, Melanie Letizio, and Miles Letizio. She was predeceased by her father Tadeusz Franczak.
Gosia is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure. Rather than shed a tear (or whilst you do), plant a flower, or a tree, call a friend, do a random act of kindness. Hug everyone a little tighter and love openly. Keep her memories alive, talk about her often.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, July 23 from 5:00– 7:00PM at Pillsbury Phaneuf Funeral Home in Littleton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 24 at 10:00AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in Littleton. Burial will follow at the Elmwood Cemetery in Franconia, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gosia's Pan-Mass Challenge team at http://tinyurl.com/RideforGosiaPMC. 100% of every rider-raised dollar goes to support cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
