Margarete Donaldson Obituary
Margarete J. Donaldson, beloved mother and Oma, of Columbus, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the age of 88.
Oma was a kind, caring person who loved to cook and feed family and friends. It warmed her heart to share homemade raisin bread and cook sauerbraten for friends. She enjoyed listening to music and playing German music for her family on her cherished harmonica. Oma loved crocheting and gifted many warm blankets to her family. Oma had a soft spot in her heart for animals, providing a loving home for a dog, cats, and birds over her lifetime.
Margarete retired from Boehringer Ingelheim and Amerisource Bergen Corporation where she made and enjoyed many cherished friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Elise Repp; sisters Betty, Maria, and Regina; brother Fredrich; and grandson Jonathan Garrett. She will be deeply missed by her children Peter Repp, Corinna (Jose’) Owens, and Ricky Donaldson; grandchildren Wesley Owens, Whitney (Perry) Dupree; and four beautiful great-grandchildren Priya, Willow, and Perry Dupree Jr, and Legacy Garrett.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18th, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Newcomer Northeast Chapel, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, OH 43231. A memorial service will follow.
