Margaretta A. Toal

Margaretta A. Toal, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 97, in Pennsville, NJ. Born on April 4, 1928, in Mt. Ephraim, NJ.
Margaretta, known affectionately to all as a loving and faith-filled woman, was the cherished wife of the late Harry Toal. Her legacy continues through her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Maureen Toal; her caring sister, Ruth Nolan; her adored grandchildren, Matthew, Christopher, Laura (and husband Kyle Richards), and Erin Toal; and her treasured great-granddaughter, Mya Richards. She was also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Audubon High School, Margaretta's youthful spirit was showcased on the field hockey pitch where she played with vigor and passion. Her commitment to her community was unwavering, as evidenced by her active participation in the Sacred Heart Church in Mt. Ephraim, NJ. There, she was not only a parishioner but also a dedicated member of the Altar and Rosary Society, where she found great joy in serving others and deepening her Christian faith.
Margaretta was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Notre Dame Football, cheering on her teams with enthusiasm. Her artistic talents were displayed in her love for ceramics and floral arranging. Margaretta's hands lovingly crafted centerpieces and floral arrangements that adorned the homes of family and friends, each piece a reflection of her care and attention to detail.
Above all, Margaretta treasured the time spent with her grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Each moment with them was precious, filled with laughter, stories, and the creation of memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 9-10AM, at St. Joachim's Parish, 601 W. Browning Road, Bellmawr, NJ. A funeral mass will follow at 10AM, at the church.
Interment will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the Brig. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Margaretta's memory to a charity of the donor's choice.
