Margarette Keitoria Barksdale started her journey of life on July 8th 1986 in Nashville, TN. Margarette completed high school at Stratford Comprehensive High in May of 2004, and studied at Middle Tennessee State University. A laugh and smile followed her every movement as she moved from her hometown of Tennessee west to Oklahoma. She spent several years there cultivating her mind and growing as a woman. Ending back in Tennessee, she made her home in Murfreesboro with her three children. She worked at various companies where her leadership skills were proven exceptional. Her last employer was with Elevance Health in TN.
Margarette was a free spirit with a thirst for adventure the moment she could walk. She had a bright soul that shined on everyone who came into her presence. She never met a stranger or left anyone empty handed. She was gifted with a multitude of talents and did not hesitate to share. Her imaginative spirit would manifest in whatever she created. Her hairstyles were unmatched; her chocolate covered strawberries were delicious; her organic oils were priceless; her wisdom was beyond her years. She gave freely of herself, and accepted you without judgment. Words to describe such a being are: loving daughter, special baby sister, caring mother, and true friend and confidante to all. Margarette was the absolute light and laughter in the family. Every soul that was blessed to know her was made brighter by her presence.
As her beloved heart stop beating on June 27th 2024, she leaves behind to cherish her memory three children, brave and intelligent Davidion Clark Jr, lovely and wonderful Kyra Clark, and sweet adorable Addison Clark; proud father and mother Prentiss Barksdale Sr. and Amy Barksdale; three loving older siblings Prentiss Barksdale Jr, Donald Barksdale, and Genista Wilson; three kind-hearted nieces Alexxandria Barksdale, Jya Barksdale, Alicia Wilson; four amazing nephews Jonathan Johnson, Tremaine Wilson, Jeremiah Dowling, and Xavier Barksdale. Along with a plethora of aunts, uncles, church family and friends. Geneva Jones (maternal grandmother), Curly Lee Brown (maternal grandfather), Mable Brooks (paternal grandmother) preceded Margarette in death.
It saddens our hearts to say goodbye to our Margarette, but she would want all of us to continue with love and joy in our hearts. She was love; she was joy; she was light. We love you Margarette always and forever.
