Margarita Cervantes de Mendiola 75, of Eagle Pass, Texas passed away on Tuesday April 15,2025, at UMC in Lubbock, Texas with her children and grandchildren by her side.
Margarita was born on August 5th, 1949 in Delicias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Julio Cervantes and Maria Cervantes. Margarita was a dedicated mother and grandmother; she always took care of her family and those around her. Her favorite pastime was to be with family and take care of her great grandkids. She loved to cook especially for her grandkids. When they would visit her she would have a 5 gallon bucket filled with homemade tortillas and a pot of beans ready for them to devour. Margarita worked all her life whether it be odd jobs or just taking care of her children. All around Margarita will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her 8 children: Pedro Mendiola of Eagle Pass, TX, Jose Angel Mendiola of Eagle Pass, TX, Humberto Mendiola of Andrews, TX, Rosie Torres of Andrews, TX, Griselda Ochoa of Andrews, TX, David Mendiola of Eagle Pass, TX, Maribel Moreno of Andrews, TX, Arturo Mendiola of Eagle Pass, TX; 32 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, Julio Cervantes and Maria Cervantes, her husband Pedro Mendiola, her grandson David Mendiola.
