On January 30, 2024, just shy of her 87th birthday, our beloved mother and grandmother, Mrs. Margarita Andreevna Vainberg, passed on quietly in her sleep.
Margarita lived a long, difficult, and dignified life. She was born on March 10th, 1937, in Moscow to Andrey Timofeev and Faina (Novikova). During the war years, as a child herself, she took on the responsibility of raising her younger sisters, Lilya and Tamara, while her parents worked long days to provide for the family.
While studying at the local community college, she met her future husband and lifelong partner, Ernst Romanovich Vainberg, in the early 1950s. They married in 1960 and together they raised their two sons, Oleg and Roman. After finishing her studies at the College of Film and Television (Leningrad Institute of Technology), Margarita began working at Tasma as a technologist in film and photography. Thanks to her toughness and persistent character, she achieved great success in her career and held the role of store manager for many years before retiring.
In 1997, shortly after her retirement, Margarita and Ernst moved to Michigan to be closer to their sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Until her last moments, she was surrounded by her family. Margarita is survived by her sons, Oleg and Roman, her youngest sister Tamara, and her grandchildren Dmitriy, Jenny, Andrei, Alena, Jacob, and Alexander.
A memorial for Margarita will take place at Lynch and Sons (1368 N. Crooks Rd, Clawson, MI 48017) on February 2nd, 2024 at 1 pm, followed by a private burial at Resurrection Cemetery, and a separate reception to follow. Friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Margarita's life.
