Margie Gardner Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by King-Barr Funeral Home, LLC - Lewistown on May 29, 2022.
Margie P. Gardner, 85, of Lewistown, passed away on Saturday May 21, 2022 at Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital.
Born October 23, 1936 in Oakland, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Shandrick) Pearch. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her grandson, Harry W. Gardner, III, and 5 siblings.
Margie is survived by her loving husband Harry W. Gardner, M.D.; children, Patricia A. Gardner and husband Frank C. Welsh, Jr., Linda K. Gardner and husband Kurt M. Packer, and Harry W. Gardner, Jr.; grandchildren, Jack E. Packer, and Mitchell W. Gardner; and sisters, Sue and Irene.
Margie grew up in downtown Oakland and met Harry, who was a freshman at The University of Pittsburgh Medical School. To all that knew them, it was apparent that Margie and Harry were the loves of each other's lives. They married and quickly made their home in Lewistown, PA. They remained happily married for 67 years.
Margie's three children were her heart and soul. Margie chose to be a homemaker throughout her marriage to raise her children which allowed her husband, Dr. Harry Gardner, to grow his medical practice along with Dr. Leopold and Dr. Creighton.
Upon the birth of their grandchildren, she found a new joy in life. She loved her grandsons dearly and enjoyed spoiling them whenever she could. Her greatest joy, however, was Harry. She lived for him and loved him unconditionally, as he did her.
The celebration of her life and mourning of her passing will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to King-Barr Funeral Home LLC, 120 Logan Street, Lewistown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are respectfully encouraged to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 USA, or Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 106 N Dorcas St, Lewistown, PA 17044.
