Margie Grace (Berry) Pierce, 91, passed peacefully from this life on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
Margie was born to Roy L. Berry and Margaret Jewel (Elledge) Berry on February 28, 1934, at their home in Nowata, OK. Margie attended all her years of school in Nowata, OK and graduated in the Class of 1952.
Margie had seven siblings. They lived at Coody's Bluff and rode the school bus to Nowata to attend school; they also lived on the Mason Ranch.
As a youngster she enjoyed reading late at night by the open flame heater. At ten years old she stocked shelves at the little store near Coody's Bluff. Margie was the oldest daughter, so she spent most of her years caring for her siblings, that was her main job.
Shortly after graduation she married Bill J. Pierce on August 31, 1952. They had three beautiful children, Nancy Lynn, David Lee and Donald Joe. Bill and Margie built a wonderful life together.
Margie worked as a clerk for many local stores, First National Bank and Nowata Public Schools. She later enjoyed teaching sewing classes at Tri County Tech in Bartlesville. Ok. And spent her later years working for Thomas Jewelers and Treasures Jewelry in Bartlesville, OK. She was still attending the annual Christmas dinners at Treasures.
Margie was a member of the Focus group and the Teacher's Retirement Association and enjoyed many luncheons with her fellow teachers. She was very active in church and attended First Church of God in Nowata and served in many areas of the church over the years. Margie enjoyed teaching Sunday school classes and took great pride in her lesson planning. Margie was a devout Christian, had an undying faith and lived each day for the Lord. She integrated these qualities into her children and grandchildren.
Preceding Margie in death are her parents, Roy and Jewel Berry, husband of 65 years, Bill Pierce, two sisters, Helen Ward and Janice Wyrick, three brothers, Eugene, Warren (Rooster) and Kenneth (K.B.) Berry.
Survivors include her children, Nancy Hindman, David (Shari) Pierce, Don (Sabra) Pierce all of Nowata, Ok. One brother Charles (Chuck) Berry of Tulsa, OK and one sister, Erville Orndorff of Bartlesville, OK. Eight grandchildren, Nicci (Steven) Mayhew of Oologah, OK, Bryan {Angela) Hindman of Bartlesville, Ok, Lucas (Michele) Pierce of Bartlesville, OK, Beth Conley of Pawhuska, OK, Tyler (Carissa) Pierce of Talala, OK, Dallas (Chandra) Hindman of Bartlesville, OK, Lacy (Jacob) Berryman of Grove, OK, and Gentry Pierce of Bixby, OK.
27 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Plus, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M., Sunday, October 26, 2025 at Benjamin Funeral Service. A Celebration of LIfe will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 A.M. at the First Church of God in Nowata with Pastor Wendell Abbott officiating.
