Margie Colleen “Marge” Stapp, age 94 passed away on November 8, 2025 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Marge was born in Talihina, Oklahoma on September 30, 1931, Marge, and her older sister, Ruby, were raised together, by their grandparents, whom they called ”Mama” and “Daddy”. She spoke fondly of her grandparents, and loved her life growing up.
In her early adult life Marge lived in Ft. Worth and began her career as a waitress. She worked at Zuider Zee and Mexican Inn, both in Ft. Worth. In the 1970s she started managing a neighborhood bar named Big John’s located on East Lancaster. There she met the love of her life, RC Stapp. They married and lived 50 years in Burleson. Marge continued to work in the service industry at some local favorites, K Bob‘s Steakhouse and Bonanza. During this time, she developed strong relationships that continued throughout the years.
Marge was a member at Boulevard Baptist Church, and had accepted the Lord as her Savior. She had a very special love for animals, especially cats, and never turned them away. Her passion for collecting cups, plates, and her love for Willie led to an amazing collection of his memorabilia!
Marge is proceeded in death by her mother Era Brown, sister, Ruby Robbins Lane; son, Michael Myers; grandson, Timothy Peppers, and husband, RC Stapp.
She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn; her sister Joan, two nieces, Tanja and Barbara, four nephews Jim, Kevin, John and Richard; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel, located at 518 SW. Johnson Ave. Internment of the ashes will be take place in Hallsville, Texas on Sunday, December 14, 2025.
