Margo Erickson Obituary

Margo Anne Nielson Erickson was born April 25th, 1952, in Richfield, Utah, to Jack Roger Nielson and Ruth Greenwood Nielson. The youngest of five- Jack, Reid, Carolyn and Kirt came before her- she brought light and laughter as she grew up in Monroe and Spanish Fork, Utah.

On August 26th, 1971, she married the love of her life, Rodney Kent Erickson, in the Salt Lake Temple. Together, they built a home grounded in love, laughter and faith. Her greatest joy was her family-her eight beloved children: Cameron (Maritza) Erickson, Jade (Ryan) Linford, Kit (Jordan) Erickson, Penney (Tommy) Thomsen, Megan (Mark) Mehler, Julie (Chris) Erickson, Bryce (Candice) Erickson, Brooke (Blake) Pando. She was a proud Nana to 27 grandchildren-the treasures of her heart- and "Nana the Great" to her first great-granddaughter.

There aren't enough words, stories or emotions to accurately describe who this amazing soul is. But to us, she was big hugs, warm smiles, sleepovers, bubble baths and all things pink. She was a pair of shoes to match every outfit, a favorite home cooked meal on your birthday, and way too many homemade pies on Thanksgiving because "too many" was never enough. She was the loudest whistle at any event, waking up at 2:00 a.m. to watch a granddaughter speak on her mission in a foreign language, unknowingly dirty games and jokes because she was too innocent to know any better. She was handmade quilts and beautiful handwritten cards, almond M&M's and nutty coconut ice cream. She was the first person there and the last to leave when you needed anything. She was unwavering faith. She was our biggest cheerleader, guiding light, protector, friend, and everything in between. She was pure magic.

She gave her whole heart and soul to ensure you understood how much she cared about you. She dedicated her life to serving her family, friends, neighbors, community, and even perfect strangers. If you know her, there is a great chance that you were also gathered by her, experienced her parties, and most likely were at the center of at least one of them.

She was a true disciple of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and her unbreakable faith in Him was unmatched. She was a person everyone wanted to be around. She lived a life of striving to reflect the Savior who perfectly loves every one of us. If there's anything she knew for sure it was that she loved our Heavenly Father, and she loved His children.

While her mortal mission here was legendary, and she was the G.O.A.T., her true mission is far from over. We know she is doing now exactly what she did in this life. Loving, bringing together, nurturing, and inviting all to come unto Christ. We know she'll be waiting patiently for the best reunion she's planned yet, and in the meantime, she'll be counted amongst God's best angels.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, her 8 children, 26 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild, her sister Carolyn, and many family, friends, nieces and nephews she loved like her own. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Hailey, her parents, and her 3 brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025 at 11:30 at the Westland 11th Ward, 7265 South 2700 West, West Jordan, Utah. Viewings will be on Thursday, October 2 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 - 11:00 am, all at the church. Interment at West Jordan City Cemetery.
